Description
As co-owner and product lead, I was responsible for the end-to-end design and development coordination of Qubi, a modern SaaS solution created to help restaurants streamline their operations and stay competitive in an evolving market.
The Context
The restaurant industry increasingly requires advanced digital tools to manage inventory, control costs, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations like HACCP. Qubi was designed to respond to these needs by replacing an outdated PHP-based system with a smarter, more intuitive platform.
My Role
I led the requirements gathering, conducted a competitive analysis, and translated insights into a fully redesigned user experience. I designed the entire product in Figma, working closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout the build. I also managed client feedback loops and iteration cycles during development to fine-tune the platform based on real-world use.
The Solution
Qubi offers a comprehensive suite of features tailored for restaurants and hospitality businesses:
Precise dish cost calculation to optimize pricing and profit margins
Supplier price comparison for smarter purchasing decisions
Automated inventory management linked to sales and stock levels
Order cart system for manual or automatic restocking
Built-in HACCP compliance tools, including product labeling
Real-time notifications for expiring items and low stock
Live inventory monitoring for better resource planning
Portion forecasting to estimate production capabilities
Detailed reporting on sales and consumption
Results
The impact on early adopters was immediate and measurable:
Waste reduction through better inventory control and expiry tracking
Cost optimization via accurate pricing and competitive supplier analysis
Improved efficiency, saving time on daily operations and allowing staff to focus more on customer experience
