Description

PerplexiGrid is a work-in-progress tool being developed for the official Perplexity Sonar API Hackathon. It enables users to generate dynamic, interactive dashboards from natural language prompts — combining real-time web data with custom sources in a collaborative, visual interface.

My role

I’m leading the backend development using Supabase, managing authentication, data storage, and real-time collaboration features. I also contributed to the UI implementation in React, and designed the full interface in Figma, focusing on clean layout, usability, and prompt-driven interactions.

The challenge

The objective is to create a system where users can input queries like *“Analyze startup funding trends in Europe”* and instantly receive a dashboard populated with charts, graphs, and structured insights. This requires bridging conversational AI with flexible frontend components and persistent backend logic.

The solution

The current build includes:

Natural language dashboard generation via Perplexity's Sonar API

Supabase integration for project data, auth, and multi-user collaboration

Drag-and-drop layout system using React Grid Layout

Editable widgets that respond to follow-up queries

Collaborative chat for real-time co-creation

Figma-designed UI, now partially implemented in the frontend
